Makita delivers grinding performance with the 40V max XGT® Brushless 5" X-LOCK Paddle Switch Angle Grinder Kit, with Electric Brake (GAG13M1). The Makita-built brushless motor along with 40V max XGT® battery combine to deliver powerful grinding and up to 60% faster cutting speed than previous models*.
The X-LOCK quick change system allows for tool-free wheel changes with simple snap-on mounting and pull release lever for change-out. It is ideal for grinding and cutting a wide range of materials including tile, concrete, pipe, conduit, and more. The large paddle switch allows for power start press points at multiple grip positions.
The GAG13Z is powered by a Makita-built brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The Brushless Motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT®) turns the motor off if rotation speed suddenly slows or the wheel is forced to a stop.
The Angle Grinder features an electronic current limiter that helps protect the motor from overload in high torque applications, it also features quick guard rotation that allows easy tool-less adjustment for increased productivity, spiral bevel gears for smoother rotations, and a more efficient transfer of energy, as well as soft start which suppresses the grinder’s start-up reaction for smooth start-ups and longer gear life.
Convenience features include a rubberized soft grip which provides increased comfort on the job, and a compact size of only 16-3/4” which increases user comfort and allows operation in tight spaces.
XGT® is a system of equipment, tools, batteries, and chargers utilizing 40v max lithium-ion batteries.
